SICPA Acquires Cabot Security Materials Inc.

SICPA Acquires Cabot Security Materials Inc, Expands Technologies Portfolio

SICPA, a leading global provider of security inks, authentication and traceability solutions and services for banknotes, security documents and consumer products, announces it has entered into an agreement under which SICPA plans to acquire Cabot Security Materials Inc. (CSMI) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the United States.

 

CSMI is a product division of Cabot Corporation. The acquisition is in line with SICPA’s strategic expansion of key technologies portfolio.

 

A new company, STA Technologies Inc., under US registration, has been set up. Upon closing, a total of 40 persons, all current CSMI staff, will continue activities in research & development, production and business development at the current Albuquerque worksite.

 

The transaction is subject to the satisfaction of regulatory requirements and customary closing conditions.

 

SICPA is committed to respecting CSMI obligations concerning employees, suppliers and clients. STA Technologies will be further developed into a competence centre dedicated to material-based technologies for authentication.
