End 2025, SICPA partnered with Bank Indonesia through the Currency Academy, delivering end‑to‑end expertise across the entire cash cycle in collaboration with other partners specialising in security technology and banknote printing. Delivered in collaboration with SICPA and its partners, the programme underscores Bank Indonesia’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the rupiah, ensuring its resilience, and preserving its cultural heritage in a rapidly evolving financial landscape, while enhancing social and economic stability.
Comprehensive Insights Across the Cash Cycle
The programme provided representatives from Bank Indonesia’s Currency Management Department with knowledge spanning the entire cash cycle from paper substrate production and security inks, to printing technology, cash circulation, and usage.
Key topics included:
- Paper and substrate technology innovations by Landqart.
- Ink security technology and forensic analysis through SICPA workshops and laboratory visits.
- Printing technology advancements with Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions.
- Cash usage in modern economies.
Participants are also equipped with practical insights into how banknotes are produced and secured—including the rupiah, recognised as one of the world’s most secure banknotes. Its 2022 series was named “Best New Series” by the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA).
