Digital Sovereignty

Critical data is a national asset that is exploited and vulnerable to forgery and theft, with data flows being untracked and untaxed. Governments and sovereign entities face the challenge of protecting the public’s trust by protecting data integrity. In order to do so, all critical digital infrastructures need to be protected from foreign influence, by modernising legacy systems to ensure interoperability and scalability. 

Illicit trade and tax evasion thrive in digital shadows, undermining financial accountability, allowing for a lack of control or traceability on digital money flows. The shadow economy distorts markets and harms legitimate businesses, also limiting liquidity and accessibility to national assets. To help strengthen policymaking and improve overall governing, governments need real-time data. 

There is a constant rise in pressure for governments to demonstrate fiscal responsibility and transparency, they need to fund national budgets without increasing taxes. Digital Services must balance convenience with privacy protection, however access barriers limit inclusivity and service reach. To responsibly provide public services, governments also need to be able to measure the impact of welfare policies in real time.
