Inauguration Unlimitrust Campus

SICPA inaugurates its unlimitrust campus, the world’s first centre of excellence dedicated to the Economy of Trust

Today, SICPA – market leader in security inks for banknotes and leading provider of secured authentication, identification, traceability and supply chain solutions – is inaugurating its unlimitrust campus in the presence of Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, President of the Vaud State Council Christelle Luisier, and its own Chairman and CEO, Philippe Amon. Embodying SICPA’s purpose of providing governments and industries with solutions that enable trust in transactions, interactions and products, this campus has been created to bring together innovation players in one single community. It aims to accelerate the creation of technologies and solutions which contribute to the emergence of an Economy of Trust on a global scale.

As physical and digital interactions merge and present new challenges for our society, this SICPA initiative is designed to facilitate the emergence of innovative concepts and developments. “In a world where the pace of innovation is accelerating, the unlimitrust campus embodies SICPA’s desire to create a safer, more reliable world for everyone through collaboration and the pooling of multiple areas of expertise,” says Philippe Amon, Chairman and CEO of SICPA. The unlimitrust campus brings together a dynamic community of startups, companies, SICPA employees and researchers in a single location, fostering a collaborative dynamic.

The canton of Vaud, its innovation and investment promotion agency Innovaud and the EPFL Innovation Park (EIP), all key driving forces of technological innovation in Switzerland and throughout the world, already contribute actively to the overall dynamics of the campus. Several EIP startups are represented in the Trust Village, where events have already been held by Innovaud and the Trust Valley, the centre of expertise co-founded by SICPA aimed at promoting the excellence of the Lake Geneva region in the field of digital trust and cybersecurity.

This community of innovators is managed by the Economy of Trust Foundation, a SICPA initiative aimed at promoting and furthering the very concept of the Economy of Trust. It will eventually offer programmes to foster innovation and organise events on campus and beyond.

“Our foundation has set itself the goal of creating a dynamic, collaborative ecosystem aimed at fostering innovation and encouraging trust in both physical and digital transactions. Together, we are working to create a world built on trust, which can support the reliability of our supply chains and a thriving digital economy,” adds Jean-Jacques de Dardel, President of the Economy of Trust Foundation.

With a resolutely international outlook, the unlimitrust campus fits seamlessly into its local environment at the very heart of the Lake Geneva region and the canton of Vaud. Awarded the Minergie-P label (very low energy consumption), it has also been built in part re-using the materials from the former industrial site that stood on the plot, with the construction serving to clean up the site. It now offers a clear view scattered with close to a hundred trees of 16 different species and contributes to the vitality and the image of a resurgent western Lausanne area.
