SICPA Pakistan - 30 Years of Business Excellence

SICPA Pakistan marked a major milestone on 27 November 2025, celebrating 30 years of leadership in secure identification, authentication, and traceability solutions at a special ceremony in Karachi.

 

The event was graced by Mr. Jameel Ahmad, Governor, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), as Chief Guest, alongside senior officials from SBP, Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC), and SICPA’s Brand Protection partners.

 

In his welcome address, Mr. Rizwan Butt, Managing Director, thanked the Governor for his presence and acknowledged Mr. Arnaud Laurans, MD Currency Services and Solutions, and Mr. Jean-Marc Vanescote, Group Chief Financial Officer, SICPA SA, for joining this important milestone. He highlighted SICPA Pakistan’s evolution since 1995 - from supplying security inks for banknotes to expanding into Brand Protection in 2007, upgrading facilities in 2012, and introducing QUAZAR technology in 2022. He also reaffirmed SICPA’s strong alignment with SBP’s objectives for enhanced authentication, cash automation, and currency security.

 

Delivering the keynote address, Governor Jameel Ahmad congratulated SICPA on its three decades of successful partnership with PSPC. He praised the localisation and technology transfer of security inks and encouraged SICPA to explore the potential of establishing Pakistan as a regional hub for security inks and allied products. He also appreciated SICPA’s support in developing Pakistan’s upcoming banknote series.

 

Speaking on behalf of SICPA Switzerland, Mr. Arnaud Laurans commended SICPA Pakistan’s journey toward becoming a trusted leader in security printing and brand protection. He applauded the dedication of the team under Mr. Rizwan Butt’s leadership and reaffirmed SICPA’s continued investments in next-generation technologies and digital solutions, proud to be a trusted partner for Pakistan’s future, ready to support the upcoming banknote series and expanding brand protection needs. 

 

The celebration concluded with a lively musical performance by renowned singer Zoe Viccaji, who entertained guests with a blend of English and local hits.

 

The anniversary festivities continued on 28 November, with a dedicated celebration with all employees. In their remarks, both Arnaud and Jean-Marc appreciated the team’s dedication and resilience in making SICPA Pakistan a key contributor within the SICPA Group. The event featured the Worker of the Year & Departmental WinnersLong Service, and Operational Excellence awards, followed by a celebratory lunch and memorable photos with the specially designed SICPA Pakistan cut-out.
