SICPA Uganda launches blood donation campaign with institutions

« Every donor is a hero, and every drop counts. Blood cannot be manufactured or bought; it must come from people willing to give a part of themselves to others. » Susan Kitariko, General Manager of SICPA Uganda

On September 23–24, 2025, SICPA Uganda teamed up with Kitebi Secondary School and Uganda Blood Transfusion Services (UBTS) for a two-day blood donation drive that collected nearly 500 units of blood.

With over 4,000 students, Kitebi Secondary School provided an ideal setting to engage first-time donors. Teachers, community members, and SICPA staff also participated, making it a true community effort.

Uganda needs approximately 450,000 units of blood annually, yet shortages remain common, especially for mothers with childbirth complications, children with anaemia, accident victims, and patients with chronic illnesses. Each donation can be separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, meaning one donor can save multiple lives.

This initiative reflects SICPA Uganda’s strong commitment to health and community service, showcasing how public-private partnerships can drive meaningful impact.
