Sustainability

Sustainability is at the core of SICPA

SICPA operates globally and is committed to acting as a responsible corporate citizen across the environmental, social, economic and governance spectrums. Sustainability is part of our heritage, values and vision.

SICPA is a member of the United Nations Global Compact, adopter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and committed to the International Currency Association (ICA) Sustainability Charter.

Aiming to assess and improve practices in the areas of environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, SICPA launched its EcoVadis assessments in 2021 and continues to expand them to other regions and sites.

Our sustainability journey

Since the 1970s, SICPA has initiated several programmes to improve its social and environmental performance, to propose safe and sustainable products and solutions to its customers and support local communities.

SICPA has worked to minimise its environmental and social impact for the last 50 years, with the ongoing development of new generations of security inks and solutions, the optimisation of transport and packaging as well as energy efficiency initiatives, ensuring the protection and safety of its employees, its customers and citizens around the world.

Sustainability Approach

Sustainability in our activities

SICPA seeks a balance between the economic, social and environmental aspects of the company by integrating a sustainability mindset in all its activities, products and solutions.

We assess in a factual and structured way SICPA's positive and negative impacts in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) areas across the Group’s entire value chain by using recognised analytical methods such as materiality, group-wide carbon footprint or life-cycle assessments.
