Counterbalancing the ecological footprint of our local activities

From 2014 to 2019, SICPA in collaboration with ConTreeBute, annually planted 10,000 trees in the surrounding area of Bogota to counterbalance the annual carbon emissions of its business activities.

In 2017 for example, 7300 trees were planted in Tolima and Cundinamarca regions as well as 3000 "Palma de cera" (Cedroxylon quindiuense) in the Quindío region. The reforested area has shown to have a positive social and environmental impact in the region and for local communities. This project also helps to rebalance the water basin.
