Interestingly, Vladimir originally wanted to study law, drawn by the intellectual challenge and the nuances of mediation. While he didn’t become a lawyer, he sees clear parallels in his current role.

Before joining SICPA, Vladimir didn’t know the company nor the complex world of security inks, authentication, or government‑related compliance.

He insists that it’s never too late to begin a career in compliance, but that the mindset must be structured and resilient. Stress resistance, he explains, is not optional - it is a fundamental part of the job.

His relocation to Switzerland was a very positive experience. SICPA supported him through the transition, providing a language course and guidance through administrative procedures.

Settling in Lausanne - a city with approximately 40% expat population - reinforced his sense of belonging. Diverse, welcoming, and open‑minded, the environment encouraged him to keep learning and integrating.

He emphasizes, however, the importance of making the effort: adapting, understanding the culture, and learning the language are essential steps toward true integration.

Ultimately, Vladimir chose SICPA - and continues to thrive here - because of the strong sense of mutual understanding between him and the organisation.
